Eileen Gray: A Video Reading

We’re in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and so much has been turned upside-down. My heart goes out to children, teens, and young people who have had to adapt to huge changes. Here is a 10-minute reading from my book Dazzling Women Designers (Second Story Press), focused on Irish-born furniture designer and architect Eileen Gray. Her avant-garde Bibendum Chair (1926), with its shiny, tire-like tubes, captured my imagination several years ago. After a chance encounter with one in a second-hand shop, it found its way to my living room.
